Ah Love

Brian and I have known each other for quite some time now. We met in our freshman year of high school, but I wouldn't call us high school sweethearts. We were just friends for the longest time and we crushed on each other here and there, but never did anything about it. We started hanging out more after high school when we attended the same community college. I rode the city bus to and from school, so Brian would come up with excuses as to why he had to ride the bus home just so he could spend more time with me.

He decided to join the air force and left without saying goodbye (I was only a little upset) he apologized when he got the chance and soon distance took its course and we didn't hear much from each other besides the occasional Facebook chat every once in awhile. The next time i saw him was when he came home for our friend Breanna's wedding. I met up with him and our friend Taylor and we all went to the wedding together. (As it turned out I was Brian's date, he had just failed to mention it to me) A few days after the wedding we met up and hung out to catch up on life and everything going on.

We hung out everyday after that and we decided that we wanted to be together despite the distance, so we made it Facebook official! Eventually he had to go back to work, after week and a half of dating I drove him to San Francisco and from there he flew back to Alaska. We talked and Skype'd every single night trying to make the most of being together, we even had movie date night over Skype! In November of that year (2011) he flew me to come and see him for two weeks.

It was so much fun and it was my first time in Alaska! That two weeks went by so fast! When I got back home we resumed our Skype dates every single day and our love grew stronger and stronger. In December of that year he pulled some strings and was able to come home for Christmas and he proposed on Christmas eve. It was magical, but as always the trip had to come to an end so 3 weeks after he got home I drove him back up to San Francisco for his flight.

Once again the Skype dates resumed and we fell into our routine of talking every night. After valentines day he bought me another plane ticket to come see him but this time for a month! So I flew on up to Alaska and we spent a month together, I met a lot of the church members up here and became pretty good friends with them as well. As always the trip came to an end and I came back to California and 3 days later Brian deployed to Kyrgyzstan for 6 months.

It was harder to talk every night seeing as my nights were his days, but we made the most of it. While he was away I planned our wedding and he was there (on Skype) for all my break downs and freak outs. Six months could not have passed SLOWER! In October 2012 he returned home and I flew up to Alaska to see him for two weeks to settle all the final arrangements for the wedding and to get things processed for when I would move up there.

I went back to California and he came about two weeks after me on the week of the wedding. That was when all the madness happened, but we made it through and we're sealed in the San Diego temple on November 15, 2012. We had a ring ceremony and reception two days later and left on our honeymoon to Disneyland shortly after that.

After returning from Disneyland we visited with family and a few days later we flew to Fairbanks, Alaska where we now reside.
